Naval History
- Photo collection taken aboard the USS Saratoga (CV-3).
"Most of them related to the
Kamikaze attack, on 21 February 1945. Many of these photographs are
unpleasant to see. Some of them are truly gruesome. But they reflect the reality
of warfare. May this be a tribute to all the brave men who fought aboard
Saratoga that day, those who died, and those who survived..."
My dad lived through this.

Books
*"Growing Up On The Big Sandy"- by Patricia Kelly Mansfield, A wonderful book about the life of a girl and her family during the great depression years, living on the banks of the Big Sandy River. She often mentions the Preston family, & some others by name. (I didn't read about any Williamson's, but the story was still wonderful to read. I would recommend it to anyone interested in that area of Kentucky back when times were much rougher than today.)
